Upload by FTP Instructions

The fastest way to upload large image files is by using our FTP server

You can use your favorite FTP client software or download free or demo versions from any of the following sites:

http://www.ipswitch.com/downloads/index.asp
http://www.cuteftp.com/cuteftp/
http://www.smartftp.com/
http://www.coreftp.com/
http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/
http://www.ftpx.com/

From you FTP client connect to host: sharedlog.com on port 21 (this is the default port in every ftp client)

Use your username and password to connect to our ftp server
If asked to set a server type, use a default FTP (not FTP over SSL, NOT FTP/SSL)

You can upload multiple images in JPEG, JPEG-2000, PNG, GIF, or TIFF format or an archive containing many images in .ZIP, .GZ2 or .tar.gz format.
Immediately after the upload your images will be moved to the proper location and a new album will be automatically created for you with the title of "Month-date-year" format. For example if you upload images via FTP on November 12 2005, then an album will be created with the title "November-12-2005"

If you already have an album "November-12-2005", then the new images will be put into that album.

If you upload multiple images packed in the zip format, then you can name a zip file anyway you like and the name of zip file will become the name of you album.

Of cause you will be able to edit the album, change the title, description, keywords after you login to www.sharedlog.com with your username and password.

Last note: don't be confused if you don't see your uploaded images in the FTP client "uploaded" pane. This is because the uploaded file is moved and processed immediately after the upload is complete.

Security notes: Unsupported formats (not in JPEG, JPEG2000, GIF, PNG or TIFF) will be deleted instantly. All uploaded files are automatically scanned for viruses and in case the virus is found, the file is deleted and username is recorded in security log.
